I Simply Love the Net

I only get hooked to internet for a year now. I had not actually realized its importance earlier although I had been a computer college instructor for over a decade.

But personal circumstances forced me to try internet and all its wonders and lapses. Then, I began my blogging passion, hooked with online buddies, searched the net for all the resources I need. There are simply a number of free web directory that anyone can check wherever he is and regardless of what he needs.

Since I am holding an administrative job, I shall be using more the resources from internet. Since my job is business-oriented, articles on management, marketing and organizational development among other important issues must be thoroughly handled. I do check a list of web directories like business web directory to help me draft my business proposals and plans.

And since I only search through search engines like Google or Yahoo , it is easier for me to track resources. Somehow, web directories from Yahoo and Business do help me and other online readers and lookers.

We simply have to validate the data that we get from the net that it is important to counter check the right website address and if the authors are credible enough. There are instances when anyone can just write about anything. Thus, we have to verify these facts before we can use them as reference to whatever we are writing. Hard copy of books still does complement online resources.

It is just nice to know that related articles are grouped under similar categories for easy online searches. But, I still do need sites that can accurately match my queries. Sometimes, when I search for something, only certain keywords are met and the rest are left unconsidered.

With Internet, it seems like I am just in very wide worldwide library where anything that interests me can be at my very reach. Today, distance and technology barriers become all vain because of net.

My New Job is Killing Me!

For over a decade of being a teacher, I decided to look for a non-academic work. So, as soon as I was hired to be a Project Officer for Chamber of Commerce, I faced it with vigor and hope. But, just like the adage in Spiderman, "great power comes great responsibility," I am indeed piled with a number of proposals, meetings, plans, papers and more papers. waaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

The good of this new job is that I get to meet a lot of people, the nice and the not so nice ones. hahahhaha! I dont know how long I will last since I am still in the transitory state but if I am dragging myself to deathbed earlier than expected, I might as well drop it and concentrate on my business.

My Family Needs An Auto Body Shop!

I just learned how to drive but still scared of vehicular accident. So, every time I'm on the road, I tried to be more careful. However, vehicular accidents may occur even to those who drive safely. Another family member was recently hit while he was in his stationary car by another vehicle. He suffered tremendous muscle sores and the car was badly wrecked.

His car has stopped because it was a red light but another car has just hit his car and his car accidentally hit someone else car. It was not really a major collision but it causes big damage on his car. No matter how big or small the damage was, he will need a Houston Auto Body shop to handle the repairs for him.

The incident was reported and there were people willing to testify that it was not his fault but on the other hand, he needs to file a claim with his insurance company. I don't know if he still wants to drive after the accident but I hope he will!

I Am Old and Blind!

I was quite a bookworm before when I was younger and was still in school. I spent a couple of hours reading books and working on school projects even at wee time in the morning. Also, I loved to read pocket books although, my father was all strict about reading pocketbooks. Consequently, I read while the lights were out or when their dim.

I experienced the same scenario when I pursued my computer degree that I spent hours working before my computers that I could feel my eyes strained with lack of sleep and fatigue. I was getting strings of headaches and vomits that my mom decided to have my eyes checked for eyeglasses.

I wore my eyeglasses but only for a short period of time since I found them too cumbersome and geeky. However, when I started teaching, I experienced some neck pressures and blurry vision especially from farther distance. I was then diagnosed of nearsightedness or myopia.

Myopia as defined by wikipedia.org, occurs when the eyeball is too long, or the cornea is too steep. The opposite of this is farsightedness or hypermetropia where the cornea is too flat or the eye is too short.

Studies show that myopia can be acquired through genes or races where it is prevalent among Asians. Further, there are theories that connect environmental factors and lifestyle with myopia. Also, there are arguments between relationship of myopia and education and IQ. They say, those with myopia have 7-8 points IQ higher than those without myopes.

Preventions and control may include wearing of Prescription Sunglasses , lenses or surgery. The good side of myopia is I don't have to put on an Eyewear for closer reading or viewing. It is however, important that due medical screening shall be made so that, myopia or otherwise, can be duly addressed that total vision impairment can be avoided.

I stopped teaching already but I recently acquired a new job that requires me to read more documents and to work on my computer. And since I am no longer younger, my vision is getting poorer. I may eventually put on a permanent eyeglasses.

Your Next Nature Oversized Painting!

When my sister and I opened the boutique, we wanted to make sure that it will be appealing to the customers' eyes. We are thinking of adding some personal touch like paintings and pictures. Four Seasons Painting came into my mind first but we can't find one!

I decided to browse for Japanese inspired paintings, Nature theme paintings and oversized paintings. My eyes lay on the same paintings and it belongs to Ford Smith Art . I made my research and I have learned that his arts were influenced by his childhood experiences growing up in Japan. He is a son of American Air Force serviceman developed an appreciation of the Asian aesthetic under the nurturing eye of an elderly Japanese painter.


He finished his degree at the University of Mississippi with a BFA in painting. After he graduated, he moved on to Atlanta, Georgia where he realized a natural talent for photography. Late 70's and 80's he established his reputation as Atlanta's premier fashion and commercial photographer.

It was in the late 90's when he finally decided to go back in painting. He believes that his return to painting deserved a 100% dedication; he sold his photography business and never took another professional photograph. He traveled the world and seeks his inspiration. After exploring different painting styles and themes, he found tremendous fulfillment creating contemporary landscapes conjured from the stunning horizons witnessed during his travels.

A Draining Travel For Me

I just came from a 7-hour road trip travel to and fro Kidapawan City for the Regional Development Council Meeting of Region 12. I represented my boss who was out of town. I got to meet and know different personalities both from the government local and national agencies and the private sector.

I just feel so dead and tired. By tomorrow, I shall consume the day with another meeting and proposal preparation. I wish I can have a good body massage to help me be more relaxed. hahhaha! More travels are expected of me in the coming days. Gosh! hahhaha!

As the new Project Officer of the Provincial Chamber of Commerce, I am expected to find avenues of opportunities for our stakeholders. Further, I am expected to raise funds so that the chamber will become self sustaining. At the moment, the office is supported by the American institution called Growth Equity in Mindanao or GEM.

I have been used to teaching for a decade and this new job is certainly challenging. One of the usual works that I do is to attend meetings or to go on official travels within the country or abroad. In celebration of Father's Day and my kid's birthday, we decided to head to Gumasa, Glan for that white - sand beach experience. We were all captivated by the enchanting view that we could not help but went through a number of wacky and fun photo shoots.

My Nephew Has Measles!

My poor nephew has measles!
It has been 3 days that he has fever and
earlier my sister Tammy was so worried because she saw skin rash all over his body.

Measles, also called rubeola, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that's caused by a virus. It causes a total-body skin rash and flu-like symptoms, including a fever, cough, and runny nose.

My Next Travel Destination!

Now that I was hired as Executive Manager, I will have more chances of traveling. I am thinking of traveling US and Europe but ofcourse this will be made possible because of my big bosses.

I heard that there is a beautiful Island name Faial Island in Horta Portugal. Sure it will be great to visit Horta because it is the municipality of the western part of the Azores.

I Have a New Job

Officially tomorrow, I will be working as a Project Manager in a Provincial Chamber of Commerce. This is entirely different from my years of teaching as my works will be entirely managerial.

I am definitely anxious but I have been wanting to try another job just to assess my potential skills. However, I will still have my part-time teaching works after the 8-hour job. I am only sorry that I will miss my kid and my family more.

But, wish me well as I will go through an entirely new adventure.

Our Little Angel!

When my sister Tammy and I got married, we decided to stay in our husband's houses. Our parents were so sad. But, do you believe that "There is no Place Like Home?" We actually went back to where we belong and now all the family members are back, the house is filled of laughter most especially when Ziggy, our little angel arrived.

We Want Presentable Men

As a lady, I personally want my stuffs to be neat, clean, pleasing and presentable. This is pretty true also about the boys in my life. Don't get me wrong but I only have my son and my husband to boost.

We were taught that we have to look beyond physical appearance in judging a person however, it has to be noted that impressions really last. So, if we see our men with acne or zit and they are scheduled for a meeting or a presentation, we also become pretty uneasy about it.

We do not want to have any blemish like moles, rough spots, acne, scars or freckles. We find ways to hide them. I do not see this as vanity but rather, a self - preservation. We feel good only if we look good.



This is quite true among men too. Experts say that men are as conscious as women in terms of physical appearance. Some men even put on mens cosmetics to look better. Good thing, our pop did not raise a hell out of it. We had to ask other household member to cook the meals instead. waaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I am however, pretty consumed with all the works online. I guess this is pretty the same with my sister, only that, we are unmindful of our family's hunger. hahhahaah!

In the course of our Sunday biking and jogging, my sister Tammy lost her precious cellphone. She only realized the missing gadget on our way home. tsk tsk tsk! What seemed to be a fun day for her became a frustrating one that we teased her of getting some ice cream to cool off her head.hahahhahaha!

We tried to search for it but we were pretty confident too that the efforts would be vain since honesty seems not to be a common household term for everyone.

Tammy can only worry of her phone contacts and pictures. hahahhahahah!

It is quite rewarding if one works as a nurse. The job pays a good salary but it requires a tremendous amount of physical and mental energy. I have my in-laws who work as medical staff and they truly find their job fulfilling but draining.

I Went Biking and Jogging

It's Sunday morning and we simply realized what had been a usual postponed activity, biking. We brought our family van and hauled our mountain bikes but all the rest of the family members joined us in the park.

We sure had fun with our biking and motorcycling and the kids hit the beach for an early swim.

I only wish I can do these stuffs now that classes are up again.

I have been learning to drive on our motorbicycle but I still get nervous whenever I cross intersections. I know there is simply no easy way out from this but to overcome my fear and keep driving.

However, since our automatic - steer family van had arrived from Zamboanga City, I wish to drive it instead than the two - wheel vehicle.

Call me corny or tacky but I simply have a simple heart for Korean and Taiwanese manga. hahhahahah! I originally find any sort of soap opera as cheap but gosh, when I viewed my first through F4's Meteor Garden, I started drooling over the cast and their cute story. Then, the rest is history.hahhahahaha!

To Go To School or Not

I am currently torn between pursuing my professional advancement and family. Schooling requires resources and time which I could hardly keep up. This makes me pretty guilty since I could not make up to the lost time I have to give to my kid and to the business we recently initiated among other important reasons.

But, I am halfway done with my second masteral degree and I see it more wasted if this wont be pursued until it is completed, needless to say, the self-recognition for earning two degrees.

Goodness! I really have to make up my mind. Which one is more compelling to heed, Recognition or Family?

Employees' Orientation for Us

Our school will officially start its first semester classes on Monday and I have to be honest, I really wish it can be moved to next year.hahahhahah!

I am just getting tired of teaching; I simply get more excited to just wait for customers in our store than teach before my college students. hahahhaah!

So, the school administration held us in a remote resort for an orientation. I indeed wish that my butt was just next to my laptop, watching the Korean soap opera, BOYS OVER FLOWERS. tsk tsk tsk!

But by all means, I have to gather all my strength for Monday. Wish me luck!

My Kiddo Needs a New Place

My younger sibling is finding a house of her own but she is quite hesitant to get a place within the city since the price rates are quite huge.

She saves then from her monthly pay check and scouts for mortgage refinance rates that are reasonable and acceptable enough. At this time of economic crisis, it is simply difficult to let go of your hard - earned money on something petty and invaluable.

I hope she can finally find her own place and start taking roots. Getting a house is financially draining but it will pay off in the long run too.

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

We just arrived from a 12-hour sea travel from Zamboanga City and I sure had a strange way to celebrate my birthday. My sister Tammy and the kids just settle with the boat's menu. Hahahhahaha!

When we arrived home, my mom was kind enough (as always) to buy us some ice cream and a cute dinner meal with the rest of the housemates.

Hmnnnn, a year older? I only pray for these things:

1. longer and healthier life for my folks
2. inner peace for me and my loved ones
3. flourishing business and career
4. raise my kid to be God-fearing among other things
5. less enemies but bountiful friends
6. more mountains to climb, more fun to conquer!
