When I was asked in high school what college degree to pursue, I told my parents that I would become a teacher but my father did not approve as money is limited for teachers. So, I decided to take a course in Computer Science, a field of IT. I did well, graduated with honors, worked as a programmer and did TEACHING!!!!
So, I spent a decade of my time teaching IT to my students, convincing them that it is one of the most demanding careers of the time and in the coming years. Opportunities are great because you can be a programmer, system analyst, network administrator, database manager, technical specialist, teacher among others.
But IT is challenging as hardware and software technologies evolve very rapidly. So, to keep abreast with the trends, our schools and as a previous IT Head, I would send faculty and some students for trainings. We were quite exposed to the latest trends in operating systems, object-oriented programming, networking, high-end technologies for business, government and academic applications. We also highly regard certifications from international companies like CISCO that we require our faculty to join their qualifying exams and trainings.
Trainings in remote places like Mindanao are quite a privilege as speakers from afar are still to be convinced of the peace and order situation of the place. But, we usually grab the opportunity of available trainings in the locality especially if the certificates from these will be internationally recognized.
So, even if I moved to another school in a new city, I convinced my IT students to not stop learning, may it be through self-study or trainings given by other companies or establishments as IT is only for the best. They can only have that edge over other IT professionals if they have certificates to boost.
So, in CISCO, they can train you and provide intership to their partner companies. And these companies can provide an attractive position to CISCO-certified IT professionals. They provide trainings in IP Communications, Routing and Switching, Wireless/Mobility among other trainings they have. And what is so good with this is you can even learn through their Cisco Networking Academy which provides online courses, interactive tools, and lab activities to help individuals develop the skills needed to fill ICT positions in virtually every type of industry.
Now, that I am aging but still into IT industry, I know I have to equip myself with certifications so I can compete globally and teach more to my students. CISCO trainings are affordable in Philippine currency and so, it will just be a matter of time, that I too shall grab this opportunity for my future growth. I would want to gain a certificate for Cisco Information Security Specialist and I could only do that if I will enrol to their trainings. Most likely after my CISCO training, I can do teaching in IT abroad. Now, that will be a great delight! I want to also exercise my education as an IT professional. So, now that I am back to my programming and learning networking again, I want to certify these skills and I know, CISCO is there to help me.
So, to all IT - inclined and IT professionals, hold on to your skills but equip those well with internationally-known certificates as opportunities for us will never stop but instead vary some more.

Toothless Yuri!
Today, as I went home from school and joined my son Yuri in their fashion show practice in school, he showed his teeth with one tooth less.
I could only smile at him and grin a lot. He was looking for it on the sand so he could give it to his tooth fairy, too bad, he couldnt find it at all.
So, as he ramped with his partner, he kept on feeling his lost tooth and really had a funny way of talking.
My cute little boy, he is all grown up, but still a baby to me.

Too Early but Too Late !
I was excited yesterday as I received a paid invite from Social Spark that I could already write something about the opp I reserved weeks ago. So, I right away published my one-month old reserved post. But, I did not know, how I should do it. So, I asked Twerlyn. She was kind enough to give me the instructions. . . . but ooooooooooops, I couldnt find them. So, I asked Lyn again. As suspected, I was tooooooooo late to write about it as they gave their notice around 1 AM. It expired after 12 hours of waiting. waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!
So, until the next invite then, I hope by then, I could be more on guard when it should expire but thanks any Social Spark.

Am I Normal?
Seriously though, your whole "Don't Worry, Be Happy" philosophy is really what defines emotional intelligence.
You're warm, open, and very optimistic. You know how to act appropriately, even if you don't feel like it.
You are a good communicator, and you have little difficulty with personal relationships - even when you're dealing with difficult people.
In general, you are successful, capable, together person. You get what you want out of life.
My Guy?
You've got your own thing going on - and he's lucky to be a part of it.
And even though he might pressure you to consider his feelings a little more...
He's secretly into how independent you really are.

What a hell of a week . . .
Since last week, I have been juggling among my work, business, schooling and blogging. I had to organize my sched so I could study for my masteral exam and prepare too my questionnaires for the prelims exams of my students. Boy, I was like a "Kuracha: ang babaeng, walang pahinga."

I had the rest of the week preparing for my lectures and taking government exams for the position I applied. Good thing, I passed from the two tests. HUURRAAY! Now, I only have to wait for their panel interview. . . I have the days tom. until Friday for checking of papers and exams. Whew, this is indeed a busy life. hahhahahha It is only a blessing, that I have my blog to make me stop and rest for awhile. . . Well, good luck to me!

My Midterm Exam Alert is UP!!!!
Tomorrow is my midterm exam in my masteral schooling. Boy, I have so many readings to do. Good thing, classes here in our school were shortened, thus, I had to consume the time dining and reviewing notes. I am not however done yet. . . It seems too difficult to memorize concepts when you are already aging. . . Is this really memory gap?
I seemed to do better studying in my younger days. . . Now, I could only spill them out. . . Oh my, I wish my classmates will let me copy their answers. hahahhahahah.
My class ends at 8 tonight, so I only have meager time to review and doze off. Well, good luck to me. I only pray my classmates will study harder. . . =)

At least an angel named Scotty's Princess, is helping me out. . . Perhaps, in the second semester, my work load will be lighter. Then, I can focus on my business, teaching, schooling, blogging and shopping. hahahhahahha

Blog Stop,Post Stop
In between lab schedules of my students, I could check my blog and at least read my friends' greetings but I could not really find time to make my mind work on a personal post. Now, that I am just done with my assignment on my masteral, my brain seems to have a clearer view and urge to write, so I am taking this rest.
Geez, my last personal post was a week ago. My laptop isnt working yet as we await for my ebay purchased charger. I had to pay $25.00 for it while my kind friend George from New York had to pay the billing of $100.00. I have to pay his kindness enormously!!!! I could not work at home as I put my Yuri to bed at 9 pm and I am usually dead tired that I dont anymore read my tomorrow's lectures. I only pray my students wont notice my fatigue. I usually feign it with lots of big smiles and humor.
I could only peek for a sec on my blogger-friends' blog and let them know, I still remember them. So, until then . . . . until the next blog stop. . .
