Philippines is one of the largest sources of overseas workers; while we take pride in the number of dollars sent from their remittances, a number of Filipino families take a sad flight to have their families work abroad. With very promising compensation and migration opportunities, OFWs take the risk and so are the millions of graduates.
However, earning a diploma is not at all a guarantee to earning the best job. In fact, call center agencies only hire 10% from the 100 applicants simply because they lack or don’t have the right skills to get the job.
We can partly blame our education systems because their curricula don’t strictly enforce quality education and that their skills don’t match the industry’s needs.
Government agencies who manage HEI’s must assess closely how colleges and universities manage their academic programs and how their graduates fare in employment. The economic recession only aggravates unemployment rates.
It is no question that a good number of students would rather drop from school and work. But, can diploma really earn a job? Indeed, it can, but, students who don’t have access to good schools make this a challenge. Thus, online colleges become more handy and practical. Programs cover finance, secondary education, management and others. However, make sure that they these online colleges are legitimate and accredited by regional and/or state accrediting entities and member of non - traditional education communities.
Gone are the days when learning is within four walls of a classroom, and with this boundless possibility for online education, earning the right skills and legitimate degree becomes a hard – core reality and armor to getting the right job.
With academic skills along with other soft skills, applicants can have better edge compared to their counterparts.

How to Aid Your Child on Learning
Now it is semestral break, most families are simply relieved that they have a week or two to rest and bond with the family. But, more importantly, the break shall help families to search for interventions on their kids' learning difficulties.
Parents or other house members who have ample time may teach their kids personally, but, somehow, with house and work loads, there can be meager time to assist the kids in their school activities and academic exams. Further, parents or other home tutors may not have the right or appropriate skills in teaching the kids. So, the pressures can be even higher and disappointing.
So, another medium to helping the kids is through Online tutoring where you can find help on difficult subjects like Algebra 1, Algebra 2. You can also find Chemistry help or Statistics help. And, best of all, it offers Free math tutoring online for fast and correct Math answers.
School places a lot of pressures on the kids and even on parents. But, knowing what and where to seek help, learning can indeed be easy as 1 - 2 - 3.

When Should You Have a Career Shift
I have tried programming works along with teaching but got more stuck with administrative works as I headed the computer department. Then, with all the drain, mental and physical, I decided to just continue with regular teaching works. But, this alone made me not stop looking for a non – academic job, thus, I eventually earned the position, Project Officer – Executive Director for a Non – Government Organization.
But, as I did these most recent jobs, my siblings and I started the boutique business and since then, we were making history as young entrepreneurs. So, I decided to resign from a high – paying full time job and just settled with our business. Now, I do part-time teaching (to keep me updated) and do full-time business.
So, when do we actually consider career shifting? Personally, I only have a basic answer, if your present job does not make you happy and career growth is not possible at all, then, career shifting is a more viable option.
When you are just forced to wake up and attend to your job, every day becomes a burdensome toil and this can only pile to your present stress and add to your disappointments. You become less productive but more cranky and inefficient.
Consequently, you will do yourself and your employer a favor, if you consider resignation and just retire or have another work.
It can be a risky decision, thus, if you are willing to go through this risk, then, go file that resignation letter.

When Laws Hit on You
No normal or sane individuals would wish to be convicted or accused of anything he did not do. Thus, when circumstances, intentional or otherwise, hit you or your loved ones and they require legal actions, it is only smarter that we seek a good lawyer to back us up just as good and competent as the Los Angeles Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Normally, we try to abide laws whenever we can, may this be traffic rules or community rules but when accidents or others simply drag or tempt you to do something bad like brawling among others, you can only wish that things did not happen as they were.
Just recently, an acquaintance just had her trial hearing on the case of fraud and with all the evidences against her, it can be quite difficult to save her.
Worse, the legal systems in the Philippines is quite dragging, slow and bias but if you simply have a good lawyer, then any case can be won.
Now, that I am into business, my lawyer friend can only advice me not to let others use my personal check, or credit guarantee for others, or perform illegal business transactions, all which I happily abide.
Pursuing a legal case is expensive, tiring and draining and it does not only affect the accused or the accuser but also everyone else around this person. Thus, to have a trial that is short and speedy and fair can only be highly desired.
How To Write Good Essays
Writing is never easy; in fact, it is a painstaking and dragging task that can make you go nuts and cranky. But, when deadlines are at stake, you simply have to go through the enduring process of writing essays.
However, best essays are not made out of nowhere. It requires tremendous strings of works and without proper guidance and knowledge base, all your writings can go vain.
One of the things that actually hinder a writer to write is his lack of self - esteem when it comes to writing with correct grammar and convincing content. However, this downside is not impossible to address. A review on your English basics or constructs can give you a head start. Also, having a short course in English can help you professionally.
When language is fully addressed, then you can go to the nitty - gritty of writing essays. Most of my A - grade essays are not done without a solid effort. Normally, with a given topic, it is a must that I gather several resources to support my essay, may it be a Narrative Essay or a Critical Essay. I have to screen out facts from unsupported theories, so, that conviction in my essay can be evident and sensible.
With all the readings, they can be quite overwhelming, thus, when I read several resources, I make sure that I note important points and observe citation rules. And when you do this, make sure that you observe citation format only allowed by your school or by your institution.
After having all the notes, I review and analyze them and see how the ideas can complement and support one another. Further, I identify which argument or point is more convincing and must be well emphasized.
With knowledge of what to write and how to write it, I make an outline of how ideas can freely flow in my essay and how I can support my argument. It is quite imperative that when you write, may it be a personal or an impersonal write – up, your ideas must be organized, and clear. To achieve this is to prepare and follow an outline. Feel free to revise this outline should you think that the change can contribute better.
With an outline, you can now write your essays. Make your title and your introduction catchy, convincing and interesting since these will invite your readers to read the rest of your essays. Make sure too that you only discuss one point per paragraph and that all the body of your essays must complement with one another. In your conclusion, re - stress your arguments and wrap up your essay well.
Lastly, after you make your essay, review it for grammar or typing errors. An essay becomes more professionally looking if it is error free.
So, should you need to write Compare and Contrast Essay, Justification write – ups, or practically anything, you can put your skills to action. But, if you simply don’t have the time or the skills, then, having a mentor or a third – party service to do the essays for you can be of great help.

The Struggling Plight of Teachers
Today, I quite feel awful. As a teacher for a decade, I had several happiest and worst experiences ever with students, co-teachers, administrators and parents. I am quite passionate with my profession that I normally extend my services to them even beyond what is required.
But, what actually discourages me is to see students failed from my classes. I pity them but I pity their parents more. Now, that grades are soon to be due and that graduating students' grades are computed earlier, I had a bad news to tell my graduating student, she failed and will be missing her graduation this March.
She cried and pleaded all right but I could not give in since my class records show that she doesn't deserve a passing remark. She is quite persistent that she saw me twice this day and keeps on texting me. I am really pissed off when she requested for special projects or exams to make up.
Students and parents must indeed understand that grades are earned. Teachers are only there to make sure that learning is assured and properly monitored. But, if students choose to least prioritize their studies, I don't think, teachers on their right mind will make up grades just to make them make through. I help students who help themselves. But, I guess values are subjective to some individuals. How far will parents and students go just to change their grades?
I am no idealist but I just want to teach values of integrity and dignity as much as I want to impart lessons. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! I only hope people will share this plea. Most likely, Philippines and our leaders and even corrupt and corrupting families and individuals will least likely exist.

Let's Go Party!
Last August 1, our school its college acquaintance party. So, our ITE department hold it in a hotel by the pool.
Around 260 students were contained in the hotel's function room. THey seemed to happy to be contained on their seat as they kept on hopping from one table to another.hehehhehhe
BUt, it is nice to mingle with them. Only then, I realized that we have a big number of students. So, the program was filled with games and too many entertaining intermissions from them. I was supposed to give the closing remarks after the dinner, but my, after their dinner, they went straight to the pool. So, I ended up, getting their wacky pictures instead.hahahhahah. Poor Teacher!
They all had great fun. I had a great fun!

24/7 Busy Buzz
If you are jobless, a day and night could be very dragging but when you are actually employed (not to include, that you are teaching in the day, checking papers at night), and studying all at once, could be very draining and time consuming.
Today, I just had myself enrolled in Master in Info Tech. Good thing, I passed my entrance exam with good scores. hehehhehe. However, I dread already the days when I have to hustle between being a teacher and a student. I only pray, I wont take my Yuri and blogging for granted =).
My laptop is not working for 2 days now. So, sorry my fellow bloggers, I have to find time in school just to check my site and do short blog hops. I hope to still see you around my blog.
I hope to get my laptop done, so I can squeeze blogging at night time. Take care then my friends. Visit me when you can and I will find time to know your updates.Ciao. . . have to travel an hour back home. . .

Filipino Education is a BIG CRYING DISAPPOINTMENT
Teaching in college for 10 years had allowed me to mingle and interact students from various secondary schools. And sad to say, majority would come from the public schools. Good for those who could afford to go to a private institution because the learnings and skills of the students are quite better. But, my sad heart goes to those who could only go to public schools. The tuition could be free, however, the price that the students and parents have to pay after their graduation was more expensive and irreversible. Their communication skills alone were very poor if not bad. I had to teach Grade 1 English Tutorial among college students. WOW!!!! Kaguol man.
Now, I wonder, would great Filipinos in intellectual competence will still be known worldwide? Most especially the ones coming from the greater public? The ones who are in power now, are the ones coming from the elite.. . So, those who are in the bottom list, would only struggle for employment and living. . . and this continues to their kids. We can only prolong their misery. . .
Is this also true in other nations? I really wonder. . .

Teaching is Noble but Mind-Draining!
I have been teaching in college as an IT professor for 10 years. Most of the time, I feel enthusiastic imparting lessons and helping my students during laboratory works. Few of the time, I just want to yell. . . OMG!
Now, that I am newly hired in one of the schools here in Gen Santos City and assigned with subjects I taught years ago, I could only feel my head pounding!!!! It is like learning how to ride a bike again when your last ride was ages ago.
So, classes will start on Tuesday with 10 subjects to handle from Monday to Friday, I could only pray . . . . . OMG (again)! My masteral schooling is set every Saturday. Oh my, will I still have time for myself and blogging? hehehheheh I will sure miss blogging day and night!
Hope my friend-bloggers will miss me and visit me often. . . hey folks, you must miss me!!!

Being One with the Less Fortunate
It has been my dream to be a missionary lady but perhaps, this mission took a different medium through classroom teaching. And, this desire to help others has been my motivation and source to influence and to infect too some more young misssionaries through my students.
IT Literacy in the Philippines is a privilege among public schools particularly for graders. Consequently, since 2005, we ask our college students to help us in training basic computer operations among elementary students. We only wish we can train more; we only wish IT Literacy can be given a serious and continuing attention by our Philippine government. We have brilliant and talented Filipinos, but only a few are actually given the resources. Those who come
I pray that othe good - hearted individuals or institutions can actually hellp promote and implement IT education among public elementary schools especially in remote areas in the Philippines. I must say their humble smiles are worth rewarding and fulfilling.
Teaching Life to Students
Being a teacher for ten years is worth fulfilling, imparting your ideals and character all at the same time. You wont get tired to read and wait until you meet the faces of your students hungry for your new learnings. But apart from all the content that you teach, you dont actually realize, that they value more your enthusiasm, your love for them. You will see this from every smile and greetings you get whenever you meet them in and out of school. THe simple "I miss your class" from your old students can make you feel fulfilled, that indeed, teaching is something. I will always appreciate the teachers in us, teachers within our friends, family and ordinary people that we meet. People who teach us how to deal life and how to love it at the same time. We can never outgrow that teacher-feeling within, perhaps, until we grow old, until our students wont remember our names anymore, but only our smiles and the appreciation they give for the little things we taught them.
