Leisure and Business in Davao and Samal Island Resort

My school employer had required his employees to join the company benchmarking in Davao to see the implementation of  5S, a Japanese - originated strategy to good housekeeping. The 5S means (Sorting, Setting, Shining, Standardizing, and  Sustaining) that can be practically applied to individual homes and bigger institutions.

So, we managed to have a generous tour to ISO - recognized school, the Davao Doctors College, and their practices of the 5S are quite evident in the  way they keep efficiency in their school for a few years now. We hope to  exercise such order and commitment too in our own school but it shall take gradual and progressive efforts.

So, after a half - day tour, we dined at Mang Inasal and headed our course to Samal Islands. We had our  short boat trip to the resort, had our light snacks and had our fun team games and discussed our benchmarking lessons.

The day ended with a cool swim at their infinity pool and clear beach waters and had a  rock - hard sleep in one of the cottages. Of course, the trip would not be realized without the usual endless picture taking from all sides of the resort.

On the second day, we took the morning shots before we went for shopping and headed home.

Thank God for Coffee Dream!

My morning starts with a steamy creamed coffee as I do my usual surfs on the net, read my emails,  update my blogs, and prepare for schools and when I simply need a break from a long day, the aroma of hot coffee is enough to stir my drained and dragged afternoon. So, I quite welcome the presence of local coffee houses but I was quite disappointed when I had to see the old Coffee Dream in KCC closed down for months. The old place was my haven for my usual coffee share, a slice of special cake, net surfing as I wait for friends and family to bond with.

The new Coffee Dream, KCC Mall of Gensan

It was indeed a delight  to know that Coffee Dream would re-open and when the SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers were invited, I could only happily accept the invitation.  And, the new interior of Coffee Dream is a total surprise from the dim and authoritarian aura the old Coffee House had.  And the  new interior is the response of the Coffee Dream founders to renovate their 33+ branches nationwide to cater to younger generation.

And, with the old taste but new look and more coffee and side dish menu, the new Coffee Dream shall once again swept off the Generals and other coffee drinkers especially that they are blended to suit Filipino taste. And, what can be more interesting is the fact that they acquire their coffee from local coffee breeders, thus, helping too our economy and fellowmen.

Coffee Dream's side dish selection

I love coffee selections from Starbucks and Krispy Kremes but when location and price are the restraints, I simply thank God, Coffee Dream is just within my reach.

So, my order of Iced Strawberry Chill with  a taste of their sumptuous corned beef burger, blueberry muffin and carrot cake, I can only think of one word to describe my Coffee Dream experience, ORGASMIC!

Great Wedding, Great Time with Old Students

My teaching career spans over 13 years and through these long years, I have endless number of students from my five (5) school employers. And, the overwhelming number is simply affirmed when I get to meet my old students but fail to recognize their names.

with my old students, the newlyweds

So, this is quite the case when the bride, one of my old students five years ago, asked me to join them in their wedding. I was just around the neighborhood that I happily conceded. Surprisingly, though, that when the bride and groom met me to hand in their invitation, the groom happened to be my student too 10 years ago.  The two simply met in Qatar in one religious activity and just after a year, they decided to tie the knots.

The wedding was beach - inspired and was held in one of the nicest white beaches in Glan, Sarangani Province. The newlyweds invited me to be one of their godparents and I could only complain because I don't see that my 30+ age falls for the godparents' age range.

the beach wedding

The entire wedding ceremony was all touchy when the newlyweds gave their personal vows and messages to their respective parents. And, while the rain was lurking around the venue, the entire program went smoothly and successfully  until I gave my own message to the newlyweds.

We stayed over the night in an open cottage and went home after the rain subsided.

Soccsksargen EXperience (SEX) Tour Rocks

Last February 25, the SOCCSKSARGEN EXperience once again took flight but this year was grander and merrier. And, since we had long weekend with strings of works to do, we just have to join few events including a concert along Al Fresco of Robinsons, zipline on Fifth Mountain of B'lakayo and Foam Party at Royal East Hotel.

We still have to wait for pictures since we missed to bring our own camera and by then, I shall be writing more detailed posts for each stop we had. In fact, my own kid was all delighted with his first zipline experience.

I am only too sorry because we miss a great number of events. But, next year shall be another string of eco - adventures.

I Conquered the 30-foot Wall

My old college classmate and friend held a 30-foot wall for climbing stationed inside a local mall here in General Santos City. My family members ( exactly five of us) were quite excited to conquer the wall that my kid had climbed 3x while the rest of us had our first and last attempt today. LOL!

Funny though that my younger siblings had reached the end of the wall while I was stuck one board away from the finish line. LOL!!!! Gosh! I got too scared first with all the crowd swarming the place but I did overcome it but when I was way too farther already, I got my head all spinning with height. Yikes!!!! My phobia kicked in thus, I gave up! Only when I reached the platform that I felt my fingers all numb and legs wobbling.

But, we sure had great time. I guess the bottomline for any endeavor is for us to have fun and to push ourselves as farther as we can.

Fun safe recreation is always nice to feel recharged. Thus, we can always try any adventure like USA online casinos   with our loved ones or friends and simply forget that we have stressful or bad days.

It is only disappointing that the wall will be dismantled today so, we can't have  repeat climbs in the future. We can however, wish that there will be another event as good as climbing these tall and scary walls.

I Need A Life!

With the stress from work, business and personal life, I terribly need a life.  I quite miss my old friends that  I wish I can just disappear and  be with them and just have good fun.

During my free time, I only consume it through movies, shopping, and blogging. Sometimes, gimmicks with fellow bloggers help.

But, one can  only be with his limits until he decides to venture out. I can go on vacation again, be with my friends, play around, have fun with discos and Casinos online.  My friends and I can choose from high quality casinos who offer generous bonuses, fun games and 24/7 customer support.

There are simply to many casinos online. We can only be more cautious and be well informed about scam and fledgling ones.  Thus, we might as well go for quality casinos.

I hope I have enough resources to see my friends.

I'm A Couch Potato

The problem with not too social person and is aging, I get to stay more time at home or at store. Sigh!

But, it is never a wasted time since I use my free time reading, blogging and watching endless movies. We however, rely only on buying CD's since the home TV is not subscribed to any cable service.

I did search for a cable service that is suited to our home needs but to no avail until I  found DIRECT TV Packages.  They offer varying bundles of promos that can meet unique need of those who want to have  DIRECTTV Packages

I wish I can have any of these DIRECTV Packages especially now that Manny Pacquiao will soon have his next fight. My pop will surely enjoy the home viewing live!

For now, I just have to endure first online movies and shelf CD's.

Everything New!

It is December officially and we are just too excited to wait for vacation and experience more time for family and rest.

But with the coming new year, we have this feeling of deja-vu too to hope for better life, new ventures, more posts to write, new blogs. I had started a blog in Wordpress but the theme is still generic, so I shall soon work on its Wordpress theme.

I wish better life for my loved ones, good health for everyone too. But, most likely, our boutique will be at the mall, so, this requires greater pressure as we need to have regular new stuffs to beckon customers. My food business will be in place too.

New year shall be a new busier year for us.

Stylish Driver: Me

Now that I learn how to drive, I have to get some sunglasses that will protect me from sunshade and dust otherwise I may be heading to someone else's bumper or wall. But since I am myopic, I may be getting sunglasses that will help me better see.

Optical stores are elsewhere but there sunglasses that are simply quite reasonable in rates. How You Can Start Spending Smart? You can check on online and offline stores that for one, sell $ 8 Rx eyeglasses.

I am a fashion chic. So, I normally mix and match my accessories with my outfit. My favorite high fashion eyeglasses then that will make me my driving more stylish will be the ones below.

I Need a Vacation

My sister, Tammy, will soon leave for Manila to attend to the new business my younger sister plans to have.

This will make our boutique unman although my mom usually attends to customers whenever she is free. I will soon leave my job, so, somehow, I have to all my best to make my business work.

My partner has his job, and after 11 years of everyday work, I will soon have my vacation and do anything at my bidding. Would that be a relief?! I hope so. My mom has persevered from our furniture business, I can take her endurance and wisdom as my guide.

Then, I can go back to doing what I love, biking and jogging.

Sister's Bonding at The Spa!

Working as an Executive Director is not easy. I have to travel all the time and meeting is almost every day. Lately, I have been so stressed with paper works and so I invited my sister Tammy to a spa. She was so excited when I told her about my plan.

Right now, the spa experience will be the only answer to my stress. I can't wait to feel the hot tub chemicals on my body. I miss the soothing feeling every time I soak my body in the hot tub. Actually, I can do it at home but it will fun doing it with my sister. Sister's bonding at the spa will be fun!

Amazing Scupture For Everyone

Ron Mueck's Lifelike sculptures

Ron Mueck is a London-based photo-realist artist. Born in Melbourne,Australia , to parents who were toy makers, he labored on children's television shows for 15 years before working in special effects for such films as Labyrinth, a 1986 fantasy epic starring David Bowie. Eventually Mueck concluded that photography pretty much destroys the physical presence of the original object, and so he turned to fine art and sculpture. In the early 1990's, still in his advertising days, Mueck was commissioned to make something highly realistic, and was wondering what material would do the trick. Latex was the usual, but he wanted something harder, more precise. Luckily, he saw a little architectural decor on the wall of a boutique and inquired as to the nice, pink stuff's nature. Fiberglass resin was the answer, and Mueck has made it his bronze and marble ever since

Our Weekend Getaway

Our funny jump shot, with my sister Tammy

In celebration of Father's Day and my kid's birthday, we decided to head to Gumasa, Glan for that white - sand beach experience. We were all captivated by the enchanting view that we could not help but went through a number of wacky and fun photo shoots.

Although we missed the sea swim since it was way low tide at around 1o am, we still had great time.

Employees' Orientation for Us

Our school will officially start its first semester classes on Monday and I have to be honest, I really wish it can be moved to next year.hahahhahah!

I am just getting tired of teaching; I simply get more excited to just wait for customers in our store than teach before my college students. hahahhaah!

So, the school administration held us in a remote resort for an orientation. I indeed wish that my butt was just next to my laptop, watching the Korean soap opera, BOYS OVER FLOWERS. tsk tsk tsk!

But by all means, I have to gather all my strength for Monday. Wish me luck!

TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

Just one of my wacky moments with my fave carbonara (hahahhahha!)

We just arrived from a 12-hour sea travel from Zamboanga City and I sure had a strange way to celebrate my birthday. My sister Tammy and the kids just settle with the boat's menu. Hahahhahaha!

When we arrived home, my mom was kind enough (as always) to buy us some ice cream and a cute dinner meal with the rest of the housemates.

Hmnnnn, a year older? I only pray for these things:

1. longer and healthier life for my folks
2. inner peace for me and my loved ones
3. flourishing business and career
4. raise my kid to be God-fearing among other things
5. less enemies but bountiful friends
6. more mountains to climb, more fun to conquer!

Did I ask much? LOL! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Babysitter For My Nephew

With my naked nephew, ZG

Babysitting is definitely tiring but fun except when he becomes a monster baby with his unceasing cries.

When my sister Tammy is busy on something or tired with my nephew, I normally babysit the little boy. He is just heavy to be carried around and gets nasty when the weather is damp and hot.

Tammy got these pictures of us having fun. hahahhaha!
