De - Stress: Find Your Recreation

Experts say that stress can be attributed to many health risks including hypertension, obesity, some forms of cancer, alcoholism, pregnancy dysfunctions, depression, diabetes among others. Thus, we are highly advised to limit our stress levels and address them in anyway we can.

One of the alternatives to reduce and / or eliminate stress is to find a recreational activity that can be both fun, exciting, health - friendly and sustainable. Others go for movie watching, indoor or outdoor sports, fun time with friends or family, online games  like sports betting.

Any recreational activity can be sustained if is appropriate to your age, schedule and interest. So, if you find it pleasurable  to play online like soccer betting, then, there are good dependable websites.

Stress is a serious issue and only if we take actions to eliminate it that we remain healthy and productive.

Ice Age 3 with My Son Yuri!

After a long week of paper works and meetings I decided to take my son Yuri to the mall and to watch the movie Ice Age 3.
My Husband was with us also.
My son who loves cartoons was the one insisting to watch this movie as soon as he saw the trailer on TV.
Anyway, since it is weekend, I decided to say yes to him.
Even if it was raining, I kept my promise.

Twenty five years ago, TV was a privilege, only the rich ones could afford. I could still remember when my friends, my sister, and I would peek on our neighbor's windows just to see what was played on their TV.

Then, when my parents were all tired of reprimanding us to stay away from the neighbors, they decided to buy us a black-and-white TV. We enjoyed a lot of funny scripts of Three Stooges, and Hannah and Barbara's Flintstones, Bugs Bunny and all the Walt Disney films. I could vividly remember when I had to fight with my elders just to watch cartoons and all the funny movies on TV.

Now, that I am older, I still go for heroic movies. My personal favorite is the Batman series from the first sequel then to Dark Knight. I love this last installment since it is full of actions and twist and turns.

I watched it with my kid and I explained to him the story and the values he must learn while ignoring the violence as a simple make-up story.

So, when Kids' Choice Awards lists their nominees I simply opted for Dark Knight. I like Twilight and High School Musical too. I really wish I can nominate for these other great movies.

My other siblings and the little kids love to watch Sponge Bob, Jimmy Neutron and Rug Rats among Nickelodeon cartoon segments and Harry Potter movie series too. I have to praise all the producers of these movies and segments which portray not only valuable stories but also character.

The Andy Lau-Sammo Hung Big Blast!

I am a fanatic of martial arts most especially if the stars are Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Chow Yun Fat, and Andy Lau. So, last night after closing the store, Jhonel and I went to see this latest movie of Sammo Hung with Andy Lau.

It is a very good film with its swift moves and brilliant fighting strategies. I then wish I have studied martial arts when my bones were younger.Hehheheheheh. I could have kicked all my enemies on their big asses!

But the film revolved around good values honor, courage, glory and principles. I think these make the story more interesting. So, to those kung-fu fanatics out there, you have to watch this! It is worth every pop corn you eat.Happy Viewing!

Hell Boy 2: What a Good Hell of a Movie!

I watched Hell Boy 2 today with Tammy, Yuri and Jhonel. I kinda like the story and its mix of romance, comedy, actions and graphics stuffs.

Yuri was all eyes on the movie and we never really felt bored. My, the movie house was all packed. I highly recommend that you watch this too.

My Latest Movie Craze

One of my interests is to watch good movies especially stuffs of my favorites actors and with my loved ones. So whenever I have the budget and the time, I pull my closest friend or a loved one to join me.

I had this chance to watch Wanted of Angelina Jolie who acted as an assassin, and as always, I was fascinated by the twist and the moves.
It has run our cinemas here for over a month. Truly, Angelina Jolie is an action figure queen.

Also, I have been a fanatic of DMC stories, I followed every Comic character movie and the latest is Hancock, I watched it because Will Smith and Charlize Theron were there. I liked the funny side of it, a trademark of WIll Smith in the movies he is in, and the irony of most comic stories that saved society did not want at all to be saved. But I didnt like it that much as the couple-heroes didnt reconcile (rings a common bell to me!!!)

And my son and I watched this Journey to the Center to the Earth and Dark Knight. I must say we both enjoyed these.

Whatever the movie is we are watching, spending time with my loved ones would always be the greatest movie in my life. Agree??

Kung Fu Panda: A Lesson for Every Young One and Young Once

Just recently, my son Yuri had FORCED us to watch this movie (kung fu is our main course!) and the theater house was all packed. But, as we struggled on our tight seat, we began to enjoy the movie.

It depicts the character of self-esteem and faith. So, I began to reflect that we could not really be haunted by our limitations, instead, we find means to overcome them and even achieve more. Also, it shows that even others belittle you and your competence, you cannot really allow them to put you down may it be in terms of IQ, beauty, skills, physical ability, experience or other stuffs. So, I emphasized this to Yuri (and more to myself).

Are you a parent too? How do you impart values from the movies you and your child are watching? I highly believe that character must be equally important with IQ. Do you also think so?

So, do watch this movie with your kids. You will sure love their kung fu kicks, comedy and story.
